Black carbon aerosol is an important component of atmospheric aerosol, mainly amorphous carbon produced by incomplete combustion of carbon-containing substances such as fossil fuels and biomass. Black carbon (BC) is defined as the part of carbonaceous aerosol that absorbs natural light in a wide range of the visible spectrum. It is a black carbonaceous particle suspended in the atmosphere with a particle size of about 0.01μm~1μm. By further tracing the source through the black carbon measurement results, we can understand its distribution and transmission process in the atmosphere, and provide a scientific basis for the formulation of targeted emission reduction strategies. Black carbon can not only change the radiation balance of the earth-atmosphere system through direct climate effects, but also condense into ice nuclei as clouds to change the microphysical properties of clouds, indirectly affecting regional or global climate. Black carbon aerosols in the atmosphere are receiving more and more attention, and long-term continuous monitoring of black carbon aerosols is very necessary.

The LFBC-2020 black carbon online analyzer developed by Lihe Technology uses the strong absorption characteristics of black carbon aerosol in the visible to infrared band range to continuously and real-time monitor the mass concentration of black carbon aerosol using the light attenuation method. The analyzer illuminates the filter membrane with seven different wavelengths of light in turn, and further calculates the concentration value of black carbon aerosol collected during the measurement period from the light attenuation.
