On May 20, the 8th Conference On Urban Water Environment and Ecology & Three Gorges Symposium On Environmental Technology, 2026 was held in Wuhan, Hubei Province. The event was sponsored by the China Society for Urban Studies and China Three Gorges Corporation, and co-organized by Lihero. Under the theme of “Ten Years of Yangtze River Protection—Progress and Prospects”, the conference aimed to review the achievements and experiences gained over the past decade in Yangtze River conservation, explore future development directions, and promote in-depth exchanges among government, industry, academia, and research institutions. Participants shall also discuss emerging trends and new development patterns for the continued protection of the Yangtze River.
The conference brought together a wide range of experts and representatives from academia, scientific research, engineering, industry, and management sectors. Participants included 17 academicians from China and abroad, 40 national-level leading and young talents, as well as representatives from nearly 100 renowned enterprises. Focusing on major scientific and social development issues related to water environment and water ecology, attendees engaged in in-depth discussions on the new opportunities and challenges facing current ecological and environmental efforts, while jointly envisioning a broader and more sustainable future for high-quality watershed development.

Lihero Focuses on the Future of Beautiful Rivers and Lakes, Sharing Full-Chain Innovative Practices
Lihero played an active role in the conference, reviewing and sharing the company’s experience and achievements in Yangtze River water quality monitoring and the development of beautiful rivers and lakes. Hou Liang, Executive Director; Guo Zhen, Deputy General Manager; and Tang Hongchao, General Manager of the Water Environment Division, attended the conference and delivered keynote presentations.
At the special forum themed “the Future of Beautiful Lakes and Rivers,” organized by Water & Ecology and the China Committee on Water Biosafety of the International Water Association (M.S. Water), Mr. Hou Liang, Executive Director of Lihero, shared an insightful presentation titled From Source to Tap: Full-Chain Water Quality Assurance and AI Innovation in the South-to-North Water Diversion Project. The presentation systematically introduced how Lihero integrates advanced river and lake water quality monitoring equipment, big data analytics platforms, and artificial intelligence technologies into China’s major national strategic project—the Middle Route of the South-to-North Water Diversion Project. Through this integration, the company has established comprehensive, end-to-end water quality assurance from water sources to household taps, while leveraging data intelligence to support precise government decision-making and efficient management. The presentation attracted significant attention from participating experts.

During the “Tech Open Mic” interactive session, Mr. Tang Hongchao, Head of Lihero’s Water Environment Division, introduced the overall framework and practical applications of the its “Digital and Intelligent Empowerment System for Water Ecological Environment Pollution Monitoring”. The presentation focused on how digital and intelligent technologies can be leveraged to transform ecological and environmental monitoring systems, enhance capabilities in monitoring and early warning, pollution source tracing, and comprehensive assessment, and provide scientific Lihero solutions for the modernization of water environment governance and the development of beautiful rivers and lakes.

Through exchanges and presentations at this premier industry event, Lihero not only demonstrated its strong capabilities in the research and development of ecological and environmental monitoring instruments, big data applications, and artificial intelligence innovation to both domestic and international partners, but also reinforced its commitment to delivering continuous technological innovation and full-chain solutions covering “monitoring–early warning–diagnosis–decision-making”. Lihero aims to contribute solid technological strength to the protection of the Yangtze River and the preservation of China’s clear waters and blue skies.
